East Green Child Care Services ltd have been providing nannies to families in Kent & Sussex for over 20 years. We understand nannies, and families and what combination works well.

What is a Nanny?

A nanny is a qualified person who cares for your child(ren) in your home. They will be either daily or live-in (less common now) and can work , depending on the family’s requirements on a part time or full time basis usually up to a maximum of 12 hours per day.

Not all nannies are qualified, and if not they will be able to show many years of experience and references for working firstly as a parents help and then progressing onto becoming a nanny and gaining their experience this way.

What does a Nanny do?

A nanny will undertake nursery duties, this is everything to do with the children during her working hours.  This will include the children’s washing, ironing, meal preparation and cooking, providing a variety of activities as appropriate to the child(ren)’s age eg craft, baking, number work etc, school runs, taking to groups etc.

Do we employ the nanny?

Yes.  You will become the nanny’s employer (the nanny may have more than one if they undertake part time roles). By using an agency we will assist with setting up the payroll and providing you with nett, gross and total cost figures right from the beginning of your nanny search.  For further info please see payroll companies.

We would also assist you with providing your nanny with a contract of employment and OFSTED registration if this is a requirement.

By using an established and reputable agency you are providing yourself with a safety net and saving time.  Will will interview and screen all candidates and only send you the ones we feel match your criteria the best- this saves you time and means you are not interviewing lots of unsuitable nannies, we will provide you with referees that you can contact for candidates, we will check certificates etc are up to date and suitable, carry out DBS/ update service checks. We will also arrange all interviews for you and will keep candidates informed for you. We will take the stress of finding good, reliable childcare off of your hands and lead you through the process smoothly, answering any employment questions that arise along the way.
