HOW DO I PUT MY DBS ONTO THE UPDATE SERVICE?
Go to https://www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service
Click on Register for the Update Service
follow instructions.
Handy tip no.1! Where it says Application Reference, click on Use my certificate number instead, this is on your email confirming your DBS is completed.
Handy tip no. 2! Once you have paid you will be given the option of an automatic annual payment this is really worth doing as if you forget to renew, your DBS will drop off of the update service and you will require a new DBS.
Handy tip no. 3! If you change bank cards/ credit cards change the details stored on the update service otherwise it won’t renew and you will be required to get a new DBS done, worth noting when your renewal date is due and checking payment details are correct.
Handy tip no. 4! Keep a note of your update service ID this is needed if you need to log into your account at any time. This is your personal ID DO NOT give it to anyone else.
